Le Chateau de Groussay
Located near Montfort l'Amaury near Rambouillet in the Yvelines. The Chateau de Groussay, within 50 kms of Paris was built in 1815 by the Duchess of Charost, the daughter of Madame de Tourzel, governess to the children of King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. Bought in 1938 by Charles de Beistegui, aesthetic inspired, Groussay expanded in 1952 with two wings, one of which led to the theater and "Folies" designed with the help of artist Emilio Terry and Alexandre Serebriakoff. The Chateau and Park was classified "Monument Historique" in 1993.
